I am in the process of developing a new website for a sailing community, and I have been investigating Umbraco a bit. It really looks nice, so hopefully I will manage to use this framework. I do need some extensions, though, so my question here is - does anyone have experience with integrating/implementing these functionalitites in Umbraco?
Issue #1: Forum Already now I know that I will be needing a news based system where users are able to comment on the news (including formatting, links, pictures etc.). At first I was thinking about implementing it in a forum-like environment, much like this forum - but I cannot find any forum extensions, and developing a forum component from scratch is not an option for me right now. So, any ideas?
Issue #2: Image/doc. archive Since my site will be containing quite some historic data, articles and pictures I will have to include some sort of searchable/browseable document archive extension. This most likely needs to be developed/customized heavily to suit my needs, but if anyone has experience with this kind of extension it would be cool to know.
Thanks in advance >Tommy

... and just to clear things out - I'm a developer myself, so I will do the programming myself :-). Just asking for some input or experience hints.

For your searching, check out XSLTsearch. It is in the package repository as well as at http://umbraco.percipientstudios.com/xsltsearch.aspx. For the forum, if your needs are quite basic, why not hook up members and autoform? Niels did a screencast about that some time ago and I believe it works the same way in v3. cheers, doug.
