Afternoon all, I'm looking into Umbraco on a couple of sites at the moment as I think it will save me a lot of development time in the future however I've got questions -and lots of them!

One of the features I need to develop is a vacancies manager, I'm ok with the idea of creating a new "Vacancy" doc type but I'd like to offer the ability to apply online. Once the user has applied for the vacancy a copy should be emailed to the client and a copy saved to the database for user later.

Now I've downloaded the contact email form from the website package but I don't think that saved it to the database, how would one go about doing this? Would you extend the existing Umbraco database with your additional tables etc, create a new database for it or do something else?

TIA

Check out AutoForm Plus at http://www.neehouse.com. It will save and/or email. Very flexible.
