Hi,

I'm fairly new to Umbraco and I'm considering using it to build an article submission directory.

There are some requirements that I wanted to get some direction on so I can implement any extra bits I need with minimal effort.

- Login/register/newsletter functionality - from what I've seen, I can do that via the MemberControls so that should be fine.

- Be be able to assign documents(articles) to members so I can allow members to view a list of articles they've submitted and be able to modify them.

- Provide the member with an editor like fckeditor (or the back-end RTE) to edit articles from the front-end.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Cheers,
Peter

bump...

Looks like I'm going to do something like this:
- Create a doc. type for articles and add a member property
- Develop a user control that allows member to submit an article using something like fckeditor(html text editor). When they submit, it grabs the user's credentials, creates a new document and sets the member property. Then I just need something to retrieve list of articles for current user. Sounds all pretty straight forward.

But before I do that though, I'm just hanging out to create a macro/user control that grabs the google page rank for a URL. Think I'll do that first as it seems like lots of fun ...:!:

Cheers,
Peter

You may want to take a look at Jespers Access Validator package:

Combined with the Autoform, you should be able to use use the TinyMCE editor in your application very easily.
