I was wondering if it would be possible to send a parameter with the constructor of the class?

So to continue Johns example, you would have the ncba.Macrorenderings as the assembly and then write in ncbaDepartments(1234) as the rendertype (where "1234" is the id of some entity).

If this is possible, then we can create a generic class that can the be used for multiple dropdowns, making it easy for non-programmers to add a number of entries in f.ex. an xml file, without having to create a class and compile the code.

Have you tried this? Or is it not possible to do?

Morten,

With regards to your query it would probably mean changing umbraco source code where the call to rendering takes place which is not a good option. I have added post to my blog with latest code and some instructions it may be that we get a proper coder to look at the code and come with more generic way of doing it. Ill ping C# guru Ryan:D

I also had a decent post on integrating spell checking into tinyMCE a while back too - that might make a helpful book as well.

Can you provide the url to this post? I've been looking for a while for this, no success so far :(
