I just saw this post on Matt Cutt's blog about the Google Summer of Code:

http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/summer-of-code-2008-21-potential-projects/

It got me thinking. What would be a nice thing for Umbraco to get from a student spending all summer on a proect? Last year a guy tried porting umbraco to MONO, and recently Ruben added the MySQL support at lightning speed.

What would _you_ like to see coming out of umbraco from a Summer of Code event?

I'm looking for a new job

Better SEO support - some easier to use URL rewriting mechanism, and better handling of 404 and 301 managable from the backend (See http://www.codeproject.com/KB/server-management/Google_Indexing_Problem.aspx).

And I know I've alreay raised the flag on this, but there is some room for more perfomance upgrades, for example see http://forum.umbraco.org/misc/moving-the-umbraco-core-from-msxml-to-a-better-alternative.

Should be something fun, unexpected, but totally usefull! Hmmm, like a new UI for the backend?

Something not 100% related to the core, only Niels and Per should play around with that IMHO :-P
