The qutes aren't shown as before (inlined etc.). Now they are shown with the brackets [] Thomas

I've made a couple of posts recently and noticed that some of the BBCode type features are not working - namely [ code ] and [ font ]. For example, this text should be red

I don't think that the font tag has ever been implemented in this forum and the question is if you really need it? I wait for a function which enables me to edit my own posts after having posted them so I can correct typing errors and clarify things that should have been expressed clearer in the first place. ;)

A few things from a new user: 1. Would be nice to be able to have a status bar at the top of the screen that lets me log in to my control panel, and shows me whether I am logged in or not. 2. Would also be nice to be able to edit posts that I have already submitted. 3. The top navigation and right hand side navigation do not match. Top has "chat", and right side has "UK user group". thanks :p Nick Nottingham web design and green hosting - FCS Websites Umbraco documentation wiki - Come and join in!

Extreme issues with posting XSLT code: http://forum.umbraco.org/19406Furthermore, I tried to create a new thread under "Frontend" several times, but it wouldn't show up. Creating the same thread under "Misc" worked, though.

Hi
I'm having big problems posting in the forum.
My post was ignored until I used a shorter subject... is there a limit?

Should I be worried that the forum is up and running despite the promised down time? Is there no update coming?
Is it me or umbraco? Umbraco Certified Professional Level 2.

I still think that its a very bad idea to run a forum on Umbraco, there is plenty of good software that was designed to be used as a forum. I don't wanna be negative, but if you want to bring Umbraco to a higher level, this kind of things are important to understand.

No, the work on 3.0.5 means that the forum upgrade will be postponed.
The new forum is still running umbraco (for us there's a ton of good reasons for that), but it stores data outside umbraco using SubSonic. It's made by Gert Abildskov and Daniel Bjørnbakk and as far as I know, is (or will be) uploaded to codeplex.
We've had this discussion for ages and I know there's a ton of forum software. But all .NET forums I've seen stinks. Mostly being bloated/over-engineered and/or really hard to customize. We need a simple, STABLE forum that can be customized to our needs and potentially easily integrated with future services on umbraco.org. We don't need a bloated, geeky forum with weird point systems, youtube video support and a ton of other strange features. I wished that the beautiful and simple forum software "beast" (ruby on rails) existed for .NET, so that's basically what we'll do with the new forum.
Hopefully we'll have time during easter, but 1st priority is the 3.0.5 version.
Cheers, Niels...
Jeeeez, did I really start this :-)

Do you consider YAF.Net to be bloated and unstable?

I suggest this thread be locked since it relates to the old forum. There is another one for this one. This could create much confusion!
