I have created a Media Type called weblinks.

It has two text feilds linkUrl and linkTitle. I created it to use with an xslt file that calls them into the page as links in a side bar, this works fine.

However

Is it possible to make them fill in the correct fields when picked in the Insert/Edit link part of the WYSIWYG. I notice it has a media picker tab in which I can select the link but it just pops the node in, is it possible to make it put the linkUrl field of the node in there instead ?

Thanks for any help

Rob

Doogie,

Not sure why you have created them as media types but i have done something similar i created doc type called links with folder icon. Then created link doctype which has url , description field. The link can be child of links. I then created my links and wrote xslt to write them out. See working example here

Yeah as I said I can get it to read the nodes inside an xslt file this was my original intention.

But I got the idea after that it would be cool that when you are using the wysiwyg editor you can choose an external link from an asset list (Media or Page no odds :) )
I've created them as media and as doc files and still can't do the above. it either puts them is as a normal internal link or just renders the node number.

Basically I just want to be able to make a list of links, then insert them anywhere in the content on any page. Then if I change the assett, all instances then change.

Thanks all, Richard I have changed them back to doc types and followed the instructions/links in your post. It now works fine and as pointed out, now has the ability to track clicks.

Thanks.
