Hi everyone.

I'm looking for a developer who knows about search-friendly websites, to help me clean up a new Umbraco CMS.

I'm an SEO consultant in London. People come to me with serious website problems to fix - ie they are going broke, or they have a new problem for me to help them with, etc. Often they just bought a new CMS and want me to ensure it performs well in search and earns them $$.

So, a client has come to me with a brand new Umbraco CMS site that is just being finished. The problem is, the developers / implementers don't know about 2 of the 4 things we need for a CMS to succeed commercially:

1. Legal compliance
2. Standards compliance
3. Search engine compliance
4. Visitor friendly

In this case the problem is that they have loaded up the index page with tons of JavaScript and Ajax. We don't need or want any of it, it's all rubbish and will stop the client getting the search results they obviously need (as you know, search engines hate JS and Ajax). I therefore need a developer to give me a price to remove all that scripting. It's a very, very simple site apart from a private area (where maybe they need those scripts - but for sure not on the index page).

All the 3rd-party script has got to go, either completely, or into server-side scripts. There is no point in my asking the current developers to do this as they obviously don't have a clue about commercial reality. The site looks fantastic, of course - but so what?

The main problem I have is that I don't have the job yet - my quote will include the cost of rectifying the site (I can't work with it as it is). I'll give you a link to the site if you contact me. So we need to establish a cost, then I can quote for the work. OK?

I'd love to hear from any Umbraco devs who think they can help me out here. I'd normally prefer UK or US-based devs because of the language but I don't think it matters for this project.

If what I say makes any sense to you, we speak the same language :-)

Because I need to exclude the current Umbraco devs (for obvious reasons) I will need your real name, and if you are applying on behalf of an agency, what that is. You can get in touch at: chris[at]a3webtech[dot]com
