But I have to use manual installation then? Are there any instructions available for manual installation of Umbraco 3.0.3?

You can more or less use the same instructions as for installing Umbraco on Windows XP.

You might also be able to run the automated MSI installer, depending on which OS you are using.

Martina -

I ran into some issues with Umbraco 3.0.3 and SQL 2000 as well. I've worked through it and posted my step-by-step here:

In the end there's not much to it but I did find one issue that needs to be addressed in order for the install to be successful.

Hope this helps,
-Paul

Good day. I am just new to umbraco and I'm trying to install umbraco 3.03 to Windows XP Home. I was able to install IIS 5.0 by google searching it. But when I tried to use the msi included with the 3.03, it marks the IIS as an X because it is only compatible with IIS 6.0. Is there any way that I could install umbraco without uninstalling my operating system? Please advise. Thank you very much. :)

Hi there,

Don't worry, you don't need to change your operating system. It's just that the msi does not work for XP (it's only for Vista and 2003 server) so you'll need to follow the excellent instructions for a manual install at http://www.umbraco.org/documentation/books/install-umbraco-30-on-windows-xp

Cheers,
Lesley

Hi Lezzles!
There is problem when I complete install umbraco v3.0.3. Please help me if you can.

You know, time and time again I step by step follow the instructions for a manual install and I went to end of the road. However, when I launched umbraco and input user name and password, the “Login form” no invokes. Umbraco come back to “Login Form” always.Eh?

PS: I look into “umbracoUser” table and saw: userName = “admin”; userPassword = “abc123” (I changed password follow the instructions). But I can not Login. Please tell me why?
I am using WinXP SP2, SQL server2005 and IIS 5.0.

Thank you in advance!
