I've been trying to find some hosting providers in Sweden and around but without greater luck.

I'm looking to run Umbraco 3, and what most providers fail on is the demand for High/Full Trust. Most providers seem to run medium trust. What I need is straight up a decent web hotel, with decent traffic limits, pricing and full support to run Umbraco.

As I'm quite new to the Windows world of server & hosting environments I was hoping that someone may have some tips on hosting providers.

Thanks

You could take a look at the danish hosting company Fab-It:

I'm not sure about the full trust thing, but I have several Umbraco webs hosted on Ballou and they seem to be rolling along just fine.

Just what are the problem symptoms of an Umbraco website running on a medium trust hosting provider?

As I'm quite new to Umbraco, I don't really know what the problems symptons are. I just read this post about requirements stating that medium trust would'nt work. Read Second, Please - What a Hosting Provider Must Provide

I think one of the core differences is about reflection.

Umbraco uses reflection to discover macros, datatypes, xslt libraries and so on. But there are also a number of other features needed, that are only available in full trust.

I've used Strongbox, http://www.strongbox.se, for many Umbraco 3 sites, works very well. Simple setup using Plesk, and in my opinion, great value for your money.

I will try www.citynetwork.se (Owned by Ballou), have talked to them and they say that they use full trust on .NET 2.0, 99 SEK with SQL Server / month is ok!

Have anyone tried them with Umbraco yet?

Since I started this thread asking for ideas on Umbraco hosting in Sweden, I'd like to share my experiences with my choice of hosting.

I went with Strongbox.se

They have full support for Umbraco 3, allows Full Trust.
Their smallest web hotel hosting package is about 1100 SEK / year including MSSQL db.
Located in Karlstad, Sweden.

So far, everything works just fine and I'm all satisfied. They have great support, always happy to answer your questions and help you out when in trouble.

From some previous post in this thread it seems OK to recommend hosting companies that you are affiliated with. As I work for SBBS Solutions, please moderate this post or let me know if this is wrong and I'll delete it.

At SBBS Solutions we have been developing and hosting umbraco sites for many years and SBBS is also Sweden's first Certified Umbraco Solution Provider with, among others, four Certified Umbraco Specialists working in-house. See what Niels says about SBBS here: http://umbraco.org/blog/2008/7/15/sbbs-the-first-swedish-solution-provider

While SBBS hosting plans are not on the extreme low cost end, some might value having a quality hosting provider that has profound knowledge and experience in hosting as well as developing complex umbraco sites.

Is it me or umbraco? Level 2 certified, but a bit rusty after 8 months on umbracoless projects
