I need to find a UK host for a small new Umbraco site. Thanks to d.robar for the list of minimum requirements, as follows:

Umbraco v3.0:
- IIS
- SQL Server (2000, 2005, SQLexpress, etc.)
- ASP.NET 2.0
- ASP.NET AJAX
- Full-Trust (High-Trust is the minimum; Medium-Trust will not work)
- Ability to set your website's file permissions to include create / read / write (or better) for the user that "owns" the Application Pool for your site (NETWORK SERVICE, typically)

But I need to know if Umbraco will DEFINITELY work OK in a High-Trust environment; also if there are any pitfalls in the File Permissions area. (Full-Trust = a dedicated server, that is no good.)

Also I've heard that servers with Plesk can be very tricky; is this true?

Any other servers to avoid?

I cannot put the website on a dedibox as it is just a small site for a start-up and needs value hosting, the sort of thing you could get easily on LAMP for $100 or $150 a year.

Thanks for your info,

chris

Chris,

We provide hosting for Umbraco under FULL Trust in the US. Please visit our website at www.webdatamation.com for more information on hosting. Most shared environments will work as long as they provide full trust and are willing to work with you. We charge $49.95 per year.
