We'll need at least five students to commit to attending or the course will be canceled. Further, we need this commitment very quickly. In fact, by end of day Thursday.

Hey Doug,

Have you gotten any takers?
I'm unsure I can get time off work, am hoping to know by tomorrow.

Cheers

Hello all, we have reached the 15 people for the UK meetup.

For those who signed up at upcoming.org I would appreciate if you could write a brief summary & what you want to learn or take back from this meetup please.

The deadline for confirming or canceling the course is very nearly here and we don't yet have enough registrations!

I've learned that the 'money-back guarantee' isn't as wide-spread in Europe as in the US. If that's what is holding you back, you can register by using the contact form on my website and not have to pay until the course is confirmed.

I hope that helps and we're able to do a training in conjunction with the UK meetup.

cheers,
doug.

Congratulations on getting the first UK meetup organized! I'm sure you'll all have a great time and learn a lot from one another.

Just to close the loop, the training hasn't received enough committed interest so that part won't be happening. For those who are interested in training, be sure to contact Niels about the training in August in beautiful Copenhagen!

And be sure to post notes and a few photos for those who couldn't make it to the meetup this time!

cheers,
doug.

I've just given up my place on the upcoming page so there is one seat available.

We'll be doing a release here at work, so I can't get out for the day.

I'd appreciate it if one of you can let me know if you end up in the pub at the end of the day. I'll try and get out early and come along.

Please tweet/mail/SMS me if you guiys move on from SAS design.

Hello all at the weekend I was involved in an accident and it is looking likely that I will not be able to make the meetup.

If I have recovered by friday then I'll be there!

Let me know how it all goes and what went on please.

Friday is Friday so we'll definitely go to the pub at the end of the day to debrief. You're more than welcome. I'll send you my contacts to get in touch.

Damn! Hope it hasn't been too bad for you Warren; would be really wonderful if you recover until Friday. Anyway I'll keep you informed at what's going on during the meetup. Take care.

If one of the attendee would like to discuss about something specific on Friday, please let us know as I'm looking at structuring the meeting a bit more. But in a general way we would share about our experience and show some stuff we've done with Umbraco.

Hi Julien,
Any directions needed for finding our way into and around the SAS building?

Lesley you can use the map here: http://www.sasdesign.co.uk/contact/. The office is close to Bayswater and Queensway tube station. The building host several companies but SAS is on the ground floor so when you'll get there just go through the building's reception and you'll see the SAS logo at the far end.

See you tomorrow!

A big thank you for all of you who attended the UK Umbraco meet up on Friday. I mean Paul, Leslee, Hendy, Digby, David, Ian, Lee, Oli and Neil. It has been a very good and interesting day for all of us. We shared a lot about our different experience with Umbraco and I think we inspired each other wich is great!

David Conlisk (www.web-garden.co.uk) has taken plenty of notes during the day and will post a resume on his site shortly. Thanks for that David that's brilliant!

Thanks!
julien

After some wresting with SQL Server 2005 and shared hosting, I've got the minutes from the UK meeting online here:

Umbraco UK Developer Meeting Overview

It's split over a number of posts to help you to find the bits of interest. I tried to get everything down for those who missed it, so there were lots of notes!

Thanks again to SAS for hosting the day which was a great success. A shame that not everyone who wanted to be there could make it, but at least it's a start for the Umbraco UK Meetings, which I hope we'll continue with in future.

Cheers,

David

Anyone fancy arranging another Uk meet up?
Last time, the view was that if there was three months notice it would be easier for people to commit so we could aim for the end of November, before the Christmas silly season??
