Hey can anyone explain me media-types basics?..I found nothing about media types on official site.

Hi,

Nothing really fancy about this. Media section can be used to add any kind of media. You get three types out-of-the-box. Folder, to be used to structure the section. Image, to be used with any type of image and File, for any other file type.

Access to the media is done through dialogs (for example, using the rte, you'll get a popup from which you can select/pick a media) or through xslt and accompanying xslt extension functions (Can be found in umbraco.library class)

Hey thanks for quick reply.i have three media types (file,image,folder) from sample umbraco site. But i am not sure how to use them either in RTE or XSLT.
