Hello,

Probably a silly question... but how does one use the "LiveEditing" feature of the newest v4 nightly?

I can't see any references of how to make it work. Just wanted to have a little look on my beta testing to see how cool it is, and what I'll need to do to make it work.

Cheers,
Ed.

Hey Ed,

Couple of options here:

- Enter url directly which will fire the logic to do live editing: Look for toggleEditMode.aspx file.
- Casey's just created a small package 'quickEdit' which can be downloaded from his site

Hope that helps.
Regards,
/Dirk

Thanks for that Dirk,

Got me looking in the right direction, even if my attempts were a little unsuccessful.

Isn't Casey's package unrelated to the new live edit feature? It's pretty cool though!

Had a few issues, realised that I had to put in a scriptmanager element, and plonk it within the asp form, then it started "working" - mostly just writing things like "Live Editing of pageName is not supported yet" all over the page but at least it's doing something!

Cheers,
Ed.

The Live Editing feature that's currently committed is like 2% of what will come. I got a ton of stuff waiting for commit, so get excited once that final beta of Umbraco 4 is out (during september).

We just produced a little podcast showing the Work-in-progress of the LiveEditing improvements:
