Hello All,

I am clearly having a problem with permissions. I have several users (all are editors) I can set the permissions on several of the nodes but some just won't save to the database. I edit them, click update the success screen shows. I close the window, open up the permissions window again and all the permissions are re-checked.

One user, I cannot get the uncheck create to stick, the user still gets the create checked. others I cannot remove the publish option.

Any ideas on how I can get the permissions to work correctly?

Before anyone asks, these are brand new users that are getting their permissions set for the first time. Some of the options stick others don't.

Thanks.

Hi radmanmm,

I'm quite sure you're not talking rubbish, but as to make it simpler to identify the issue, can you:

-Provide some info about your working environment, including os/ umbraco version/ browser/ browser version/ ....
-Create a path for reproduction. I know that you've completed the steps you've written down here, it just would be best to start a test from scratch, ie on a clean install, to make sure nothing else can interphere.

Is that ok?

If you're able to reproduce the (mis)behaviour, report the issue into Codeplex by creating a new workitem. I'm quite sure the core team will have a look at it if you provide them with as much info as possible.

Regards,
/Dirk

Sounds an awful like you're using Firefox or a browser other than IE. I run into strange backed issues when using Firefox for editing. If you aren't using IE, try that and see if the error persists.

Definitely share your environment setup and version, etc. That will help figure out what might be going on.

I am using IE 7. The machine running umbraco is Windows 2003 std., the database is SQL server 2005 std. I have tried with FireFox 3 also same problem.

As far as a clean install, this site is brand new I just spent a week building it from scratch nothing else is installed on the machine either. The version of umbraco is 3.03.

If I have mis-understood what "Create a path for reproduction" please explain further.

Thanks.
