Hi there,

I'm afraid it is impossible to even start guessing on the problem, when the only description we have is "it used to run fast, now it is slow" :-P

Please provide a bit more information, like:

What version of Umbraco are you using?

What does your hardware setup look like?

What kind of database are you running on?

Is it a dedicated server, or shared hosting?

How many sites are running on the server, and are they using their own or sharing the same application pool?

That will give us a place to start.

Best regards,
Soeren Sprogoe

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

1. Umbraco Version - 3.0.5
2.Hardware SetUp
Windows 2003 server, 512 MB RAM
3.Database : SQlserver- 2005 Express Edition
4.Dedicated Server
5.Only One site is running.

w3wp.exe holds more memory. How to release the memory from w3wp.exe

Kindly send me the reply as early as possible

Recycle the UmbracoCMS application pool to free up some memory. Your server would probably appreciate 1GB of RAM as well. Good luck...

I agree, 512MB RAM is definitely on the low side. In my experience SQL Express can sometimes eat up memory real fast, and IIS takes whatever it can get it's hands on before releasing it.

Check out this recent thread on how to do a bit of app. pool memory management.
