In my administrative console, home page, everything is blank on the right hand side. All other pages show up normal. The home page shows up ok in the browser, but i can't edit it.

Not much information to go on, but I would guess that you have a document type specifically for the homepage that isn't used anywhere else in the site... and only this homepage docType is not displaying properly? If so, please look at the docType properties in the Settings section of umbraco. Probably something there is not quite right. Perhaps you changed a data type that this docType is using? cheers, doug.

The homepage is the root folder beneath content. Its docType is FrontPage. This is the only one of its type. The thing is the page is rendered correctly in the browser.

Okay. This sure sounds like you (inadvertently) made a change to the FrontPage docType's properties. Go to the Settings section of umbraco and select the FrontPage document type. Click the Generic Properties tab, and tell use all the properties you have. Just need the alias, datatype, and tab for each. cheers, doug.

hi drobar, thanks for helping me. I created another frontpage and moved all my content under this new frontpage. Deleted the old one. Took a bit of effort but the problem is solved. Thanks again.
