Hi!

We're building a large site with umbraco and we want to setup the user rights.
The challenge we now have is the following:

We would like to have document types with different tabs with their properties.
Now we would like to connect these tabs to different kinds of permissions.

Webeditors need to edit content, Senior Webeditors should also be able to edit meta-data for instance, so we made different tabs with properties.

Is it possible to hide or lock tabs with properties for some users and enable them for others?

Thanks in advance!

I'm afraid not. In my experience, though, this isn't really needed.

I've never found people putting in MORE information than they were supposed to, only people who didn't put in enough information. If a Webeditor knows he isn't responsible for the metadata I would be surprised if any of them ever attempted to put information in those fields. And, if they did, the Senior Webeditors are still responsible for the metadata content and could either accept what was entered or put in their own data if not satisfied with what the webeditor had entered.

cheers,
doug.
