I think this is the first report of trying to run umbraco with IIS 7. I suspect the issues have to do with IIS 7's (rather dramatic) changes in behavior from IIS 6 and earlier. Does anyone else have experience with IIS 7? cheers, doug.

I've got in installed on Vista Ultimate 64-bit using IIS7 and all is working.
Initially I just ran the setup but that didnt work at all. When I installed, I asked it to create a new website on a different port. I dont belive I had the same issue as you, as on mine I couldnt open any pages, just got server error. But, when looking at the Handler Mappings there were loads that I didnt recognise. So I deleted the site from IIS and created a new one pointing to the same location that the installer placed the files. This fixed it for me.
Incedently, it sounds like your missing the StaticFile handler. You can check by opening IIS, clicking the website and then looking in the Handler Mappings.

Hi everybody, I'm experiencing the same issues running on Vista Business and IIS 7.0... It seems all images and javascripts are being blocked, as I can see the text and pages, but not images. And when I login, I get a lot of javascript errors... Can anybody help??? Thank you very much in advance :o) Kim

(I mis-spoke when I said IIS7 was new for umbarco... I was thinking of the full server version rather than the one shipped in Vista which is, of course, supported. ) Typically, this kind of behavior is related to permissions problems, or possibly a modified IIS config. Double-check your installation by following the manual install procedure for Umbraco 3.0 on Vista, especially on setting file permissions ( http://www.umbraco.org/documentation/books/install-umbraco-30-on-windows-vista/configure-iis-for-umbraco) cheers, doug.
