Does anyone know if there is a way of restricting the content picker to a document type or node tree? Or know of another Rendercontrol that will do this.

The reason that I want this is to create a property for choosing the main featured news articles on a site.

I'm also interested in finding out if this is possible.

I'm working on a calendar (sort of) where you should be able to connect an employee to an event in the calendar. Employees are added as nodes in the site content tree, under a document type called "Employee List". It would be nice to be able to restrict the content picker so that it would only be possible to pick subnodes to the Employee List (i.e. employees).

You could use CPalm's Multiple Content Picker Via Source

That will list subpages from a defined node, an list them in a multiple select box:

I updated the source to work with umbrac V3 here:

I would still like a picker I can restrict by a doc type to make a fool proof content picker.

I am sure one will turn up one day..

Thanks Morten!
I decided to go with the ordinary content picker though and hope that my clients understand that they should choose an "employee node" and nothing else. Works great!
