I made a small extension with a little walkthrough that shows how to setup a 'GoogleSitemap'. Google use this sitemap to search through your web-site after dead links etc. http://www.rtk-cv.dk/projects/umbraco.aspx

Cool. To me "dead links" are links that worked but doesnt anymore. It's more like a Google page publisher.

As far I know google will tell you if one of your pages returns a 404-error page for example...

I use it for some sites.

It does report back any 404 links within your site, it also gives you stats in regards to google searches your falling under and your positioning, this is not avaliable instantly, this appears over time as google keeps reindexing your website.

For those people how are using my GoogleSitemap, it's a good thing to update your umbraco site into v2.1.6 and not just update /bin, /umbracu, and /umbraco_client, but also the default.aspx.
Niels had made a little fix for the GoogleSitemap, so you won't get any error in your Google Webmaster Tool.
