Andy - Actually now after thinking about it more, it may have been a problem with the player file caching in IE 7 not the javascript but anyways... I just sent you an update. Changes include:

-modified to use <div> instead of <p> for element placement
-modified xslt to include cachebuster player reference (users do NOT have to modify their IE 7 cache settings - should work on all)
-modified playlist sample to include background image reference
-modified playlist objects to render in actual user set width x height properties vs previous width x (height -100)

let me know how this update goes and if you run into any additional problems... thx!

way cool - good news to hear... so what do you think about the implementation? was it easy to use and easy to wire-up video files? I can go back and add some additional flashvar properties if you think the would be beneficial, ie: http://www.jeroenwijering.com/extras/readme.html

I think you have done a fantastic job, really got me out of a hole! It is a very straight forward implementation and very easy to implement the video, just have to make sure that for playlists you upload all of your video clips to the media/videos folder so that you can edit the playlist.xml file with the correct paths.

that's great... I may go back and add a couple new properties but I'll send you an update if I do. any possibility of me seeing your implementation? I'd love to see how you use it (no big deal though - don't feel obligated)...

Yes, it is a very simple implementation and I am still in the process of editing the video clips but you can look at my very first Umbraco site here http://www.pckarate.net, the flash player is under student support/Kata - Video Clips. As you will see there is nothing much to see as yet but at least the hard part is done!

Andy - I just sent you a new version which uses a random number vs date/time stamp. appears the same date/time stamp was being inserted for all multiple instances whereas the number is random for each...

just an fyi - I did some more tweaking over the weekend and added the ability the pass flashVar parameters so the user can control any additional flash var parameters they would like to set through the player (key/value pair semi-colon delimited). I also ported over most of Jeroen Wijering's scripts (all except the bugs one) so I have these all setup as individual Umbraco packages if anyone would like a copy:

-Flash Video Player
-Flash MP3 Player
-Flash Media Player (flv video, swf, images, mp3, etc)
-Flash Image Rotator

You can read more about these at:

Talking about Flash, i am also very active in OpenLaszlo, a server product which generates Flash serverside using a language based on Javascript and XML. It has great cappacities for integration with products like Umbraco. If you like flash, but don't have the time to learn it, Openlaszlo can be a great tool!!

If you already understand Javascript, its a great solution to build RIA's

below are direct links to the packages and screenshots of the rendered output and macro settings. I can't promise how long I'll have these available for download. it would be up to Niels to put the packages into the package repository if he wants to. you may need to rename from .zip to .umb but I believe both work when importing at least with Umbraco 3.0...

also please refer to http://www.jeroenwijering.com/extras/readme.html#flashvars when needed to pass key/value pairs through the flashvar parameter (ie:see mp3 macro screenshot)...
