How do I create a list of items waiting approval?

Is there an accurate way of querying umbraco for the list of items that are currently waiting for approval to be published. Like a queue where unapproved items are stored then removed from that queue onces it is published.

there used to be a dashboard package that showed the newest and most recently edited nodes, i imagine if you could find the source for that, you could easily create a new dashboard list for awaiting approval, in fact that list might be part of that package... my memory fails me on that one.

i think the last time i was nosing around at codeplex, i saw that Niels had uploaded the dashboard source from before...

i know this isn't really an answer, but i hope it points you in the right direction.

I actually saw that package but its still missing the part that I need :(

I wrote a user control that will retrieve the list of items that are not published from the SendToPublish Logs but I noticed that some of those items are already published so I will need to figure out a way to only display items that are not yet published and removed items that are published from that queue.

Maybe doing somekind of sql query would do? Anybody have any brilliant ideas?
