What does it take to add buttons to TinyMCE? Options

Hi!

I was thinking about the ability to add buttons to the tinyMCE toolbar.

For instance if I would like to add a button that could be used to insert a link to a file with information about the file type and size. (ie mydoc.doc, MS Word Document, 150 kb (new window))

This could be done easily with an XSLT macro but what if I want to connect a toolbar button to one specific macro?

Can that be done?

What happends with this kind of extension if/when umbraco gets updated? Will these tineMCE additions be overwriten?

Anyone got a clue?
