When I try to upload high-resolution images in the media section in Umbraco, I just get an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error page when I try to save it.

If I resize the images a little bit, then it all works fine.

Any idea of how to fix this?

(The images are 3872x2592 px and around 5-6mb)

And when I try to click on another node in the tree, I get a JavaScript error saying "Access is denied" on line 11, char 2. URL is /umbraco/TreeInit.aspx?app=media.

you may need to tell IIS that you want to allow larger uploads. See http://weblogs.asp.net/jgalloway/archive/2008/01/08/large-file-uploads-in-asp-net.aspx for more details.

cheers,
doug.
