Yes I noticed this when i Googled for that page, that link was to the ID, the question is if the search result should list links to page IDs instead then...

I think someone needs to update the search function (and the RSS for that matter) to se ID's instead of niceURL(id)

In terms of SEO, having multiple urls leading to the same page is not ideal. The search engines will typically drop one of the url's from the index, and it's pretty random wich one gets dumped. So I would prefer if the bug was fixed instead of making a workaround :-)

Here's a good one. Try searching for these terms together:

current() attribute

Actually, just searching for '()' causes bad things...

Two obvious bugs at: http://forum.umbraco.org/3866. The smiley img inside the code, and the html quot

Would it be possible to add a flag for the "accepted answer" to a question? (similar to http://www.experts-exchange.com and http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.expression.interactivedesigner&cat=&lang=en&cr=US)

The benefits would be:
- one could search only posts that have an answer, saving much time when looking for help

- the answer would be easy to find in long posts, especially if some proposed answers weren't actually helpful

- there could be an annual "reward" or recognition of people who answer the most questions correctly

Thanks!
doug.

I suggest that only the person asking the question can mark a topic as "solved" or "answered".

Is there something wrong with the forum?

I have tried to make a new post 3 times, but it seems to disappear to the eternal bit fields.

No message or anything.

I have tried numerous times to post with no result..very frustrating.
I wish we could have a forum like http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.php?

Could you send me an email when a posting or reply fails? That way I have a chance to look at the logs and see if I can identify the error.

I understand that it's frustrating - I haven't been in a situation where this happened, and therefore I didn't know that that could happen. Of course that's an unacceptable behaviour if this forum makes an error like that.

Jeeeez, did I really start this :-)

Couldn't find you email, so I'll post here instead.

I tried to create a post in "Misc" a couple of minutes ago (aprox 10.30 dk-time)

It doesn't show up under my profile and I can't find it with search.

I can't just check the list in 'Misc' since there seem to be a minor xslt problem:
Error parsing XSLT file: \xslt\listLatestPosts.xslt ;)

(Actaully that happens in the whole forum)

Hope this helps.

Regards

Poul

Niels & Daniel,

I want to give you guys big kudos for fixing the forum to immediately display the correct formatting of line breaks and code snippets. Posts look great and people won't get confused now.

Thanks so much for all your hard work. (We really appreciate it, even if we all complain a lot!)

I think there is an XSLT problem with the forum... New posts result in a page of

http://forum.umbraco.org/post?post=

...where there is no node number for the relevant section. I haven't been able to post anything NEW since Friday.
