Guys,

A very strange error that has recently started. I have a number of websites on a dev box. They are all running umbraco 2.1.3. Its all been working however of late when I try to publish it takes a while for the progress bar to turn up then I get a javascript error
"Line 39 error: proxies.publication.GetPublicationStatus is null or not an object"
also in the error log i get

At /umbraco/webservices/GetJavaScriptProxy.aspx?service=publication.asmx (Refered by: http://hydro.riverprojex.com/umbraco/dialogs/publish.aspx?id=1657): System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed-out. at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at ASP.GetJavaScriptProxy_aspx.FetchWsdl(String url) in C:\non_immediacy_websites\Hydro\umbraco\webservices\GetJavaScriptProxy.aspx:line 23 at ASP.GetJavaScriptProxy_aspx.__Render__control1(HtmlTextWriter __output, Control parameterContainer) in C:\non_immediacy_websites\Hydro\umbraco\webservices\GetJavaScriptProxy.aspx:line 59 at System.Web.UI.Control.RenderChildren(HtmlTextWriter writer) at System.Web.UI.Control.Render(HtmlTextWriter writer) at System.Web.UI.Control.RenderControl(HtmlTextWriter writer) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain()

when i click cancel on the javascript prompt the page publishes. Anyone else come across this problem?

It looks like its having problems calling the webservice but like i say it all use to work fine. Could be some changes in IIS ?

Ismail

:D
OK think I may have found answer for this on the old forums on posting http://groups.yahoo.com/group/umbraco/message/2528 basically The server that umbraco is installed on must be able to resolve the domain of the site it is administering to itself!

We recently had domain renewal problems could be something to do with dns on that server?
