Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has had a good experience with a VPS hosting company (preferably UK based). I am considering this as an option, but all reports have been rather negative!

Also, lots of sites selling VPS seem to be one man reseller outfits.
When selecting a webhost, I always like to have telephone technical support available and know that the company is established with a reasonable amount of employees....

Thanks.

I have a vps on hosteurope. I am really satisfied with this. I have a vps with 5 gb space, win 2003 server, guaranteed 756 mb memmory for 20 EUR per month. 24/7 support via phone (no costs) where I got competent people everytime I called. I have full rights on the vps except the os where the updates will be installed from hosteurope (with messages in advanced).

Unfortunately it is only in german, but if you need translations I can help you out.

if you go to www.hosteurope.com you can select hosteurope for germany, swizzerland and austria or www.webfusion.co.uk for uk. But I don't know if it is the same company or a partnership or something else. So I have no experience with this hoster.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

I've had a bad report about webfusion from a fellow Umbraco user, so I'm steering clear at the moment.

Thanks.

We have used Titan: http://www.titaninternet.co.uk/windows_hosting.htm to host Umbraco sites and their Win100 package, and would recommend them. They do have telephone support, though I have only once needed to use email support that that was quick.

Web fusion offered me a trial period as I said I had heard of some negative experiences from othre users.

I have accepted this, and will see how it goes, but if anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.
