Hi guys,

I was having a go with the RSSFeed xslt by Warren Buckley. If I use it on my website it works very well with IE7 and Firefox. I can subscribe to the feed without trouble. However, when I try to load the feed in my Google Reader the thing keeps complaining that "there is no feed available at this address". What am I missing here?

When I check out the URL of my feed the presented XML seems just fine...

Does anybody have experience with this?

Cheers,

Kris

Hi Kris,
I have never experienced this problem, but I must admit I do not use Google Reader, does it give you any detailed error or response.

Have you tried it with different browsers and clearing your cache etc....?

Hi Warren,

I tried on many platforms... always to no avail.

Google reader doesn't really give me anything useful... You can check the output here.

The feed itself is here.

I will look into it further later on. I really have to look at the difference between the output of your script as opposed to some other feed that GReader accepts.

Hi Kris,
It is possible that google reader does not like the querystring parmenter.

Instead try the new v3 URL rewrite rule for altTemplates
http://www.biosensors.be/news-and-events/NewsEventsRSSFeed.aspx

Let me know if that works.

Hi Warren,

Didn't know about that one. But sadly, GReader keeps complaining that there is no feed...

Hello Warren,

Just to let you know; When trying again today (without changing anything) GReader suddenly seems to have decided to cooperate a little bit better.

Subscribing to the feed now works without problems.

Very strange indeed...
