Hi, Does anyone have experience with UK hosting providers? With which hosts have you successfully installed and used Umbraco? Just looking for a recommendation. I have consulted http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Umbraco/FAQ#UK and seen the three providers there, but wondered if there were any (even out of those three) that you would recommend. Do Umbraco users in the UK host their sites abroad? Thanks

Hi, I use a VPS from eHosting.co.uk and it works very well. I've not tried running Umbraco on a shared host, but may well do one day - I be interested to hear from anyone has...

Any reason why it has to be in the UK? I host in the US because the current exchange rate has me laughing all the way to the bank.

I was hoping to get something up and running on a cheap plan, but if this doesn't work I will have to go down the VPS route. VirtualRichard wrote:Any reason why it has to be in the UK? Would you mind telling me who you use and what your experience with them has been like?

Kind of object to this hosting guy spamming every topic trying to sell hosting!

Darren, I dont see anything wrong in replying to a forum post, if I provide the service. That is what a FORUM is for. It's like you promoting your sites using the links in your signature.

Hi, Akshay, Please read this post... http://forum.umbraco.org/yaf_postst4461_Read-First-Please.aspx. I think Darren is correct in this case. Please have one of your customers make a new post in the hosting section for WebDatamation.com, where all your information will be kept in a centralized place. It keeps the playing field level for everyone that way and your services are easy to find, along with customer testimonials. Do keep your forum signature, though. Whenever you help someone on the forum your signature serves tells a little bit about you and allows people to contact you if they wish to. It's fine to mention that you provide umbraco hosting there. I hope that helps clarify the issue. If not, please contact me directly. cheers, doug.

It's like you promoting your sites using the links in your signature. Hi Akshay, Thanks for taking the time to tell me how a forum should be used, however I do feel that blanket posting across topics equates to SPAM. This topic is for the discussion of UK hosting which you don't appear to offer. Cheers.
