I've just been digging a bit in the source for the publishingservice that handles the "Publish at" and "Remove at" fields. The current problem is that when a node is unpublished via the schedled task, then it only gets unpublished from the runtime, and not the admin interface. A fix has been suggested at codeplex: http://www.codeplex.com/WorkItem/View.aspx?ProjectName=umbraco&WorkItemId=14215So go vote for it if you like using the "Remove at" feature :-)

I've voted for this because it is an annoying issue, items that are in fact unpublished are shown as published items in the backend. Hope this issue will get some more votes.
At this moment, the only way to tell that the item was 'Removed at...' in the backend interface, is that 'Link to document' is empty.
