Is it possible to assign multiple nodes to one user? We have a News section as well as an Events section (top level menu items) and there is one person who will be maintaining both sections.

At the moment, it looks like I either have to create 2 different users, or give one user access to all content just so that they can maintain the News and Events sections.

I think you're stuck there.

Either restructure the site to having a top level node and two child nodes holding the news and event section or... create two different users.

Another option: Hack the code to allow for multiple start nodes for a single user :)

Umm, I thought that would be the response! I can't restructure it because it would mess up the menu structure. Creating 2 users is a bit ... rubbish and as for "hacking the code" - no thanks Anxious

Maybe I need to combine News and Events somehow?

I don't see the problem, try playing around a bit with the Permissions on the different nodes ( that way you could hide all the nodes you don't want the user to access ).

So instead of multiple start nodes ( wich isn't possible ) just make the start node the node where you have the news and events. Then play around with the permissions to hide al child nodes that you don't want the user to see.

The problem (?) is that news and events are 2 different nodes (i.e. menu items on the web site), both of which are at the same level.

I guess removing permissions from every other node will create the same effect (although I haven't tried yet), I guess it would need to be done to any other nodes that were added at the same level ... a bit of an administrative nightmare.

I have thought if it would be possible to create a combined news/events document type with an indicator to show which one is being added. Place all of these documents under a single hidden (from the menu) node. Then use XSLT to populate the News and Events listing pages using the type indicator (news or event).

Sounds good, I'm just not sure I know how to do it!!
