What is involved in adding new tabs to admin? Options

Can someone point me in the general direction as to what would be involved to add new tabs and functionality to the admin content editing (beside the Content and Properties tabs when a content page is clicked on). Is umbraco this extendable, or would you have to edit the source code? Thanks for any info.

bubbahotep (thought you had to be in the 'South' for folks to know what you mean?) -

It's very straightforward. The tabs displayed in the Content Section directly correspond to the Tabs added to the Content's underlying Document Type. And, in addition, the properties on each tab also directly relate the the properties added to each tab in the Document Type.

Add a tab and some properties to the Document Type underlying your Content Node, and the relation will be obvious.
