Hi guys, well ive searched over the forum and websites a number of times, played in the db and dashboard.config files but am having absolutly no luck getting a dashboard item working in any of my umbraco sites. Whats frustrates me is that i do have it working in one of my sites, but i cant even replicate it somewher else. I must be doing something wrong somewhere. So, does anyone have some step by step instructions on adding a dashboard item to one of the existing sections (im my case i want to add one to the media page), or would someone please be able to write some instructions down.

OK! found out what the issue was. If its the first time you use the dashboard.config file you need to make sure you remove the comment tags around the xml ie. <!-- and --> *Kicks self* On that note, I have a multi media item uploader (it also handles custom media types) which im going to post as soon as i have bundled it up and written up the instruction file.

I realised that Keller just uploaded his multi media (http://forum.umbraco.org/yaf_postst5842_Mass-Media-Upload.aspx) item uploader which reminded me that I had not yet uploaded our version. The package can be downloaded here: http://www.snipersystems.co.nz/community/multiuploader.rarand it includes instrucitons on installation. There are a few extra steps that need to be done once the package is installed, so make sure to read the install instructions :) It uses swfupload to upload the files. You can choose the destination folder and media type the uploaded files get saved as. (it also supports custom media types!) Other than than if a few people could test and let me know if it works for them that would be great. Cheers

Dead link. You may need to associate the .umb extension in IIS to allow it to download. A screen capture may also sell the idea too. Case
