Hey Guys,
I have recently loaded umbraco to see whether it would be suitable to use for a charity website. However, after loading the site, I can access the administration panel, but when trying to access the website, i get a 404 error even though the default.aspx is there. I can access other files on the webserver, so i know it is not a web server problem.
If anyu one can help with this it would be a great help!!!

Craig... Can i ask, did you put any content in the site? One of the common pitfalls during install is to blow by the gettingStarted.aspx screen that you are taken too at the conclusion of the install process. the website wizard can be found here... http://www.umbraco.org/assets/websitewizard.umbnow you did mention a 404 error -- i don't think that sounds like a non-content issue, unless you have friendly errors turned on in ie??? If this does not address your current issue, i appoligize... one of the smarter umbracians can most certainly offer some better assistance.

I just tried to install this package and got.
The virtual path '/usercontrols/umbracoWebsiteWizard/RunWizard.ascx' maps to another application, which is not allowed.

You're probably trying to install umbraco in a virtual directory. That is a no go. More info here: http://forum.umbraco.org/yaf_postst5397_Umbraco-305-installation.aspxHope this helps, PeterD Working on an events-calendar with recursion. Post requests on my blog!
